Last Night Rocked! Oh Baby!

PRAISE THE LORD!!! It was an awesome evening last night. My bits finally came to me Friday. I would have appreciated more time nevertheless WooHoo I rocked my set. I am praying to God to get some footage. I forgot to ask someone to take pictures. Therefore, I am going to just have to do it again!!! Although before every performance I swear I am retired from comedy. I was so nervous all week, breaking out in night sweats and everything. I was so happy to finally breathe. It is really impossible to have a civilized conversation with me before I go up. Don’t even try. And this is why I continue to challenge myself. I will not allow fear to get a grip on me. Plus, I really do enjoy being on the stage making people laugh and people enjoy my work. I was so unusually comfortable last night I took interactive risk I haven’t felt at ease enough to take in the past. I also took the risk of bringing my phone up with me because I kept forgetting the material but I handled it like a pro and still rocked it. No one cared. The audience rolled with me. Often times I am quite transparent on stage and people seem to appreciate that authenticity.

It was fun. My friends Ki and Anisha came out to support me and I am so thankful for them for their support. Thank you to them and all who have come out to support. You have no idea no how much it means. One thing that must be remembered about Stand Up Comedy is the audience is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you will get. The material that had one audience rolling will have the other one chuckling or you can hear a pin drop. YIKES!! It can be frightening. You got to roll with it and be fearless. I have been blessed. Jay Singh another funny comedian packed the place out and they came ready to laugh and have a good time. 

Stand Up gets me out of my comfort zone so I will continue to press forward even when I want to quit.  That is what I say now because I got my victory and it is over, LOL.  I am proud to be a clean comic. I do not curse or talk about sex. I tried once to say noassatall but I didn’t like it. So I dropped it. I want to keep it clean. I'm going to tighten up this set, add and subtract a few things, and perform it again. I really enjoyed performing my set last night. Thank you, Dave McNary, for your encouragement and supporting my stand-up comedy journey providing me with such an awesome venue to perform. So if you missed it last night do yourself a favor and be there the next time. You deserve to "treat yourself". Come out and laugh with me and other comedians. See you there!

TOTAL WOMAN GYM AND SPA TRICKY TRICKS

I do not like doing this and I try to avoid it but I cannot this time. OMG…I cannot believe this. If you have bought or received gift certificates from the TOTAL WOMAN GYM AND SPA “BEWARE”. Like me most likely when you bought your gift certificates you were never given an official expiration date and you were told they never expire. They did not give you a tangible gift certificate. They would keep your purchases on file and whenever you wanted to use them they would be available. 

I just got off the phone with the manager of the spa on Topanga Canyon to find that policy has changed since the new owners have taken over a few weeks ago. Whatever gift certificates you have that you didn’t think would expire they have now expired and suddenly the certificates have an official expiration date. I had 5 massages/facials which I was told would never expire. I spent about $400 for those gift certificates which are now invalid however they did offer me a package “DEAL” of massages/facials providing that I pay another $400. 

How insulting.  And no, they are not offering anything except that "deal", all of nothing from a company that is supposed to be so successful, TOWN SPORTS INTERNATIONAL as I kept hearing from the manager. I AM SO IMPRESSED. They kept the money when the business changed but I do not keep the massages/facials. They add the money to their income or asset column will we take the loss. When someone tells me how successful someone or a business is I have learned that it is not always by being honest or fair which seems to be becoming more common these days.

I was so looking forward to using these services. I will not have a massage at this gym. Why should I? I already spent enough and got nothing for it. It seems I would be expected to patronize this spa after losing my money to them. They must think we are all crazy. I expect to be respected as a consumer which is becoming less common these days. Although this is a new company I trusted and went by what I was told and I got burned. 

According to the manager so did 500 other people and that is what she is aware of. How many more are there? We couldn’t all be wrong or upset for nothing. She claims she has sent over 300 emails trying to get some concessions but the company Town Sports International will not budge. Apparently, they are so successful around the country that you should be willing to lose money because of their success. How about that? 

I will not spend a dime with their day spa and I am considering a new gym. Perhaps I will go back to hopping around using Groupons, at least I know the true deal up front. I can go to any spa and spend money. 

I am so disappointed and disenchanted with this spa altogether. So friends be careful. These new owners do not seem to be willing to work with you and to honor what you have been told and trusted. I suppose they can add the money to their spreadsheets in their asset or income column which you are at a loss. But well, THEY are successful. Hmmmm……

Many of us are so hard on mom and pop companies and indies yet we tolerate and continue to support big corp while they take from us and keep getting bigger. When will we stand up and say no more? Let them use their money trying to buy up everything and change the laws by then perhaps we will exercise in a different way.

Hi there. It has been a long time since I have blogged. I think years actually. I only uploaded this video because I saw there was a link on Youtube so I thought "Why not?" I have been wanting to blog but to be consistent with it is not on my top things to do list. I think about blogging because I have a lot to say but just haven't made the commitment. This video may just encourage me to get back to blogging.



At any rate this is my latest video Always Count On You from my album Always Count On You. It was fun shooting this video and the crew was awesome. It was quite muggy out that morning and we didn't start filming until after 12 am which I like. The atmopshere was quite and relaxing. Imagine that as relaxing shoot. The atmosphere was calm. I would love to shoot at this time anythime. We got it done.



This song is about being able to count on Jesus to always be there for you and to see you through any obstacle, circumstance, etc. and that he is worthy and is to be celebrated. He honors, loves and cherishes you as his greatest creation and you shall never forget it or think of yourself any less.

 JESUS!!!!

It didn't post yesterday Monday. I had been thinking about this post since last week but wasn't quite sure about it. However, it came to me to pray for others. So many things are happening in the world and we have been here confessing over ourselves but praying for others helps them and us as well. So this week I will start with posting prayers of confessions that can be used for others and see where things go from there. This is what the Bible says about praying for others:

Job 42:10 And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. 

Romans 8:1-39
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. ... 

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all un 

derstanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


Confession for Salvation:

Heavenly Father, before you formed ___________ in the belly and before ______came for out of the womb, You sanctified, You knew _______ and You ordained him/her a prophet unto the nations (Jerimiah1:5). You have from the beginning chosen ____ to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth whereby You called __________ to the Gospel and obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thess. 2:13-14). 



Thank You Father, that you have delivered _________ from people, unto whom You now send ________, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that __________freely receives forgiveness of sins, and his/her inheritance among those which are sanctified by faith that is in Jesus Christ. ( Acts 26:17-18).


 

PRAYER FOR MARRIAGES

Many marriages are going through a rough time. Adam and Eve cannot seem to stay together, cannot seem to stay in covenant with each other, and cannot seem to stay loyal nor faithful to one another other. The enemy is doing everything and running every trick of distraction he can to put God's covenant to shame, to break up this holy union and establish other unions that are not in agreement with the Word of God. 

God has ordained marriage between man and woman. Marriage is important and means a great deal. What are all these agendas that spouses are having? Spouses do not listen to each other, are not praying for each other nor with each other and sleeping around on each other, among other things. Marriage is the greatest relationship one can experience. To be able to feel safe with that one person, to have the fidelity of that one person, to trust that one person, to feel protected, provided for and truly loved by that one person is an incredible and awesome experience.  God has given us the ability to experience that. 

Marriage should not be taken lightly nor entered into lightly. The vows one takes should mean something and should be upheld. The world started out with a personal relationship with God and then the covenant of marriage. I would think we would see how much God values it. Marriage is so precious. If each person would stay focused on God's word, keeping God at the forefront of marriage and doing what God says unto God because we love Him, I know it would work out. 

Women learn what the bible says about loving your husbands. Do it unto the Lord. Many times I quote what the bible says about how a man should love his wife and I always get some guy who wants to talk about the woman’s responsibility which should allow us to realize the thinking of that man. The man is the cultivator, the man is the head so if his focus is so on what  the woman should be doing when does he have time to learn and do what he is supposed to be doing. I realize then  perhaps he has not gotten hold of doing what God has required. 

From reading the Word, the Kings that God were pleased with and there weren’t many, were the ones who understood being a servant. Jesus is the master servant. He came to serve to show us all, to show a man how to serve, how to be a real King. Isn’t that how government works? Well at least that is how it should work. It is a position of servitude to the people for guidance and the betterment of the people. You get out what you put in. With that said I will not post what God says because it is obvious and looking this one up yourself if you are interested will be of greater value. Anyway I could go on and on. I believe in marriage. I love it. Let’s pray for marriages.

Confession: Lord, You are the final authority in every situation and we believe the Holy Spirit will go now to work on ___________'s heart and mind and the hounds of Heaven will go after ______________ and convict him/her of sin, righteousness and judgment. I believe you put supernatural hedge of protection, thorns and thistles around _________ so other ungodly affairs or influences cannot seduce _____ away from his/her spouse. Set their lives apart and sanctify them for You. Draw __________ to the fullness of Your salvation and fill __________ with Your Holy Spirit. I praise You for the anointing that breaks and destroys every yoke. I believe the Blood of Jesus is covering them from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet and every vain imagination, bondage of lust is broken over their lives. Hallelujah, in Jesus’ Name.
